A JOURNEY FROM TRAVEL TO CHEESE
The inception of Fior Di Latte can be traced back to the Alvarenga’s global adventures before the pandemic. Their exploration of cheese began during their visits to local establishments throughout Europe. A memorable tour of Paris led by a friend and a visit to one of their favorite cheese shops left a lasting impression. The couple's love for charcuterie and cheese, combined with their desire to start a business, eventually culminated in the idea of Fior Di Latte—a cheese shop that would capture the essence of their travels.
LOCAL ROOTS AND COMMUNITY PASSION
As longtime Long Beach locals, the Alvarengas have deep roots in Long Beach. Their shared journey began as high school sweethearts, and they continued to support and inspire each other to step out of their comfort zones through their work and careers.
As they began dreaming up Fior Di Latte and exploring Long Beach’s diverse culinary landscape, they felt a strong connection to the community. Long Beach's vibrant atmosphere, cultural diversity, and welcoming spirit played a pivotal role in their decision to establish Fior Di Latte and contribute to the local food scene.
A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE FOR LOCALS AND VISITORS
The name, Fior Di Latte, is an Italian phrase meaning “Flower of Milk” and was inspired by the Alvarenga’s particular love of Italy. Fior Di Latte aims to provide a unique experience that complements the existing culinary offerings in Long Beach.
By offering grab-and-go charcuterie boxes, the shop eliminates the need for customers to wait and allows them to enjoy their selection immediately. Fior Di Latte's concept sets it apart, enabling customers to indulge in a delightful cheese and charcuterie experience without any hassle. FROM AIRSTREAM ADVENTURE TO FIOR DI LATTE
Prior to settling on the idea of Fior Di Latte, the couple started a business called Destination Hitch, renting out their vintage Airstream Caravel for unique road trips and events. This venture gave others the opportunity to build special memories and allowed them to incorporate their love for travel into their work. The unique experience provided by the Airstream rentals became the inspiration for Fior Di Latte, where they sought to create a distinct offering that tied back to their passion for travel and exploration.

In their quest to offer something extraordinary, Fior Di Latte plans to introduce global ingredients into their boxes, further distinguishing their offerings.
